Dr. Mara Posner joined the Gastroenterology Associates team in 2009 after moving to Las Vegas from Philadelphia, PA where she completed her three year gastroenterology fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Posner, a board certified gastroenterologist, holds a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from the Kansas City Medical and Bio Sciences medical school. Physicians with a D.O. have obtained the same level of clinical medical training as an M.D., and they have also concentrated on how a disease affects the entire body, thus delivering a holistic approach to medicine.

Dr. Posner decided to specialize in gastroenterology due to the diversity of procedures that can be used to effectively alleviate symptoms patients experience with a gastrointestinal condition. She also wants to reassure patients that they are asleep during a colonoscopy so they need not worry about pain. Dr. Posner is known for delivering excellent patient care with and has a reputation for a great bedside manner.

When not working, you can expect to find Dr. Posner spending quality time with her husband and toddler son. She also enjoys traveling, music and cooking.
