Colon Cancer Prevention

The first line of defense against colon cancer is colonoscopy. For more information about this procedure, please click here

If you are 50 years of age or older, Gastroenterology Associates urges you to take the first step in colon cancer prevention by making an appointment for a colonoscopy today. This painless procedure allows our physicians to examine your colon and remove any polyps all within about 30 minutes.

Generally speaking, colonoscopy screening doesn’t need to begin until you reach age 50. However, there are some people with risk factors who should begin screenings earlier. Please contact Gastroenterology Associates for an appointment to determine if you are a candidate for early colonoscopy screenings (especially if you have a strong family history of colorectal cancers, polyps or if you suffer from other diseases of the colon including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis).

Please contact our office to schedule an appointment or should you have any questions. We’re standing by and are dedicated to your digestive health.
